The sharp rise in demand and resource availability can largely be attributed to skills shortage, with European workers leaving Britain.     Facing a manpower surplus, Singapore Airlines is in the process of providing a voluntary non-paid leave to its workers, especially its cabin crew. The scheme was first introduced during the financial crisis, with a view to enhance flexibility in managing crew resources. Being offered intermittently, it is meant to better manage its 8,200 cabin crew members, who collectively comprise more than half of its total staff strength of 14,800

    Tesla, known for it’s hard stance on workers compliance and work culture, faced the heat recently when the National Labor Relations Board filed a complaint against it suppressing unionization efforts of its  workers. Labor Union and employees had earlier submitted three separate complaints accusing the global electric vehicle giant of literally coercing workers into silence when they tried to ally with labor unions. Tesla’s legal reps will have to submit answers to the charges at a hearing before the NLRB on or before September 14th.
