Jio-bp’s appointment of Sareeta Bhatikar as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) comes at a defining moment as the company accelerates its ambition to reshape India’s energy and mobility landscape. The Reliance Industries–bp joint venture is rapidly scaling across future fuels, electric mobility, and customer-centric ecosystems, where leadership and talent strategy remain central to its next phase of growth.
Bhatikar steps into the role following a six-year tenure at HDFC Life, where she served as Head of Human Resources and led people strategy for a workforce of more than 40,000 employees, with a strong focus on culture building, leadership development, and organizational transformation in a highly competitive and evolving sector. She also played a critical role in steering people integration during the HDFC Life–Exide Life merger, ensuring continuity, alignment, and cultural cohesion through a complex transition.
Her professional journey reflects extensive cross-industry experience. Prior to HDFC Life, Bhatikar held senior HR leadership roles at Cipla, where she served as HR Head for the India business, and at Vodafone, contributing to large-scale HR transformation, performance management, and business partnering initiatives. Earlier roles at Unilever, Maersk Line, and Larsen & Toubro Infotech further strengthened her expertise in talent management and global change programs. She holds an MMS in Human Resources from the Welingkar Institute of Management.
Speaking about her move, Bhatikar said, “As I step into my new role, what excites me the most is the bold and ambitious vision with which Jio-bp is reimagining and revolutionizing mobility in India.” For an organization operating at the intersection of scale, innovation, sustainability, and customer experience, she has emphasized that culture and capability will be key differentiators.
As Jio-bp expands its EV charging footprint through its Jio-bp pulse network and invests in future-ready mobility solutions, Bhatikar’s appointment signals a clear intent to build a high-performance organization. Her leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping employee experience and strengthening organizational capability as the company navigates India’s evolving energy transition.
