NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has appointed Samiran Sinha Ray as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, marking a significant strengthening of the organization's leadership team. The appointment reflects NEEPCO’s continued emphasis on robust human resource management as it prepares for future expansion and deeper organizational transformation.
In this role, Ray will be responsible for guiding NEEPCO’s people strategy, enhancing HR capabilities, and shaping an environment that promotes excellence, high performance, and employee engagement. His extensive background in workforce leadership is expected to support the corporation’s broader mission of operational efficiency and people-centric growth.
A veteran HR leader with nearly 35 years of service at NTPC Limited, Shri Ray brings deep expertise across regional, project-level, and corporate HR operations. He began his journey with NTPC in 1990 and has since held several senior roles. Before being deputed to NEEPCO, he was the Regional Head of HR at NTPC’s Northern Region Headquarters in Lucknow—its largest regional setup covering eight projects, two joint ventures, and a major solar installation at Nokh.
He simultaneously held additional responsibility as Regional Head of HR for Eastern Region-II in Bhubaneswar, where he oversaw five key power projects. His previous assignments also include leading HR operations in Eastern Region-I (Patna) and serving as Head of HR at NTPC Farakka and NTPC Barh, where he played a major role in elevating HR systems and strengthening workforce engagement.
With his extensive institutional experience and strong leadership record, Ray is well-placed to guide NEEPCO’s HR strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and advancing a people-centric, high-performance culture.
