    UPS has its work cut out approaching the next round of talks with the delegates of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The union, who put new contract propositions up for a vote to its worker-turnout received an unequivocal response, with 54.3% of the voters dropping nay in the ballots. Discussions are due in order to reward UPS workers justifiably in regards to profit sharing.

    According to the Kaiser Family Foundation Report, the value for family health insurance coverage has reached a figure of $20,000 in 2018. The employers and employees are jointly covering these expenses with a contribution of $14,100 and $5,550 respectively. Better and cheaper health care alternatives have been the moot point for employers all over the world with Amazon, Berkshire Hathway, and JP Morgan Chase joining forces to reduce the costs and others partnering with hospitals.

    Hurricane Florence didn’t have an adverse effect on the labor market as per the Labor Department. The belief that extreme weather dilutes foreseeable job growth, didn’t hold up. Rather, the week ending September 29 saw seasonal jobless claims reach 207,00, a drop of 8,000 against last years’. While the signs are positive, it needs to be noted that North & South Carolinas are yet to file their claims, something which could make the jobless claims picture turn on its head.
